This is a ladder braced 1910 Washburn model 435 Grand Concert Guitar.
The sides and back are Brazilian rose wood with a thick cedar neck and an Adirondack top. The guitar has its original tag inside. It has just had a neck reset, the fretboard was leveled, frets adjusted, action set, and is playing wonderfully. There is a back crack that was professionally repaired. At 114 years old, this 00+ size guitar has deep and "thumpy" bass, sweet mids, and clear highs. What a grand guitar!!! I use light tension steel strings with no problem what so ever. No bellying, 25-1/2" scale. 1-3/4" nut and 2-5/16" at the bridge. Soft 20s-30s period case...
The olden day guitar makers knew what they were doing!!!
