Description
The Tausch 665 is a remarkable forward-leaning guitar that still feels and looks right at home next to your Tele or Strat; yet at a closer glance it is a truly well thought out, executed and unique instrument with a feature set all its own.

Only a few of these gems are built each year to the highest of quality standards in Germany by luthier Rainer Tausch. The 665 is certainly influenced by Fullerton T-Style designs, though at a closer glance you will notice many departures that make this magnificent guitar truly stand out in the crowd.

The 665 features chambered construction with a solid center block that extends the entire length of its resonant Pearwood body. Pearwood has the sparkle and richness of Maple, while being lighter and less dense with a more rounded mid-range.

The neck has a scale length of 665mm which equates to a 26 & 3/16” scale. While slightly longer than a std Fender scale length of 25 ½”, it is what makes this guitar feel, play and sound as extraordinary as it does. The 665 was not designed as a baritone, however we’ve seen quite a few of our customers turn theirs into one. All you have to do is setup your guitar with heavier gauge strings and tune it down to B or your preferred baritone tuning.

A beautiful thing about this scale length is that are able to play throughout the entirety of the fingerboard without ever feeling cramped. If nobody were to mention the scale length it would be difficult to detect that it is slightly longer than a Tele, as it just feels extremely comfortable and right.

The fretwork is impeccable as is the setup. One of our favorite parts about the 665 is that it has the quick and snappy responsiveness of a bolt-on, but with an added dimension of acoustic resonance due to the set-neck and semi hollow construction.

The pickups are much more clear and focused than most Humbuckers. They are built by one of the worlds finest; Haeussel Pickups In Germany. The the scale length once again factors in here tonally; as the two pickups are more spread out than on a standard 25 1/2” scale. This gives the guitar great clarity, sparkle and note separation; especially when the two pickups are mixed in the middle position.

The 665 comes equipped with a very responsive trem unit with a wooden sustain-block that adds warmth and completely to the guitars overall tone. A beautiful “Lemon-Chocolate Burst” finish, flame maple top and light aging to the necks finish as well as the metal hardware round out this awe-inspiring build by Rainer Tausch.
