The guitar was subsequently offered in an official NFL eBay charity auction, with the money raised donated to the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund. The charity created by Citizen Scholarship Foundation of America to provide educational assistance for post-secondary study to financially needed dependents of those killed, or permanently disabled as a result of the September 11th terrorist attacks

Various documents relating to the auction and the guitars usage are included in the sale, including an Official NFL Auction PSA/DNA certificate of authenticity and the eBay listing history showing the vendors account as the winning bidder

A proportion of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to a Children's Hospice local to the vendor
