Description

THIS is a 50 year old bass that LOOK 50 days old!!! 7 lbs, 6 oz!

I have a vague recollection of seeing the first few Japanese " PAN " instruments coming to the Pacific NW port where the distributor (LD Heater) would receive ALL Japanese items for the Western USA .
Only a small number were "un-branded", like this one!
I worked for a dealer starting in late '73/early '74, We were a Gibson, Fender, BC Rich, Martin, Takamine, AND Lyle-Pan dealer. I DON'T recall basses, but I remember at least 2 Tele style guitars that were like this one.

Totally original (sans a replaced bad tone pot) AND ORIGINAL CHIPBOARD CASE! Whoa!

There are NO playing issues (neck plays GREAT!). BUT......

there was a bit of "goo" on the shimmed heel pocket my Tech figured was actually factory (NOTHING had ever been off or adjusted). SEE PHOTOS - For those that don't know, this type of instrument was the low end budget stuff at the time. ANYWAY...........................

This is as close as you can get to a Time Capsule MIJ bass! YEAH!!

Packed and shipped with care, using wrap AND 1/8" hard-board (what we used to call Masonite in lieu of a hardshell case) to protect front and back. I've done this MANY times and it works well.
