Description

A most unusual and one of a kind item just came in. If you are a Martin Aficionado and into true historical artifacts- here is the case that C.F. Martin III took to Princeton with him as a Freshman to house his 1911 model 000-45. 000-45 was of course the flagship model of the era at Martin. C.F. went on to graduate from Princeton and was the shop superintendent and chief of production through Martin's golden years (20s-48) before becoming the CEO in 1948. While Mr. Martin was receiving his college education, an Ivy League one at that, he toted his personal guitar about campus in this very case. C.F. Martin III was the first of his family to graduate from college. This is an extremely fancy case made of hand tooled leather. Princeton logo is embroidered into both sides and the inside of the case is lined in yellow felt. Mr. Martin was also accepted into Harvard Business School but returned to Martin Guitars to help with the family business as his younger brother was still enrolled at Princeton. Truly a one of a kind piece- this case will impress even the most ardent of Martin fans. The 000-45 that this case was made for is on display at the Martin museum in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. More can be read about this case in "Martin Guitars: An Illustrated History of America's Premier Guitar Maker". This case can be in your collection for 4,000 dollars.
