Martin Custom Shop" consists of less than 20 people.
At first glance, some of the models produced by the shop have the same "look" as the regular line.
However, the models produced by the Custom Shop are unique and the sound quality is above the regular line.
It takes about a year or more to complete a Custom Shop model, and it is no wonder that many people find value in it and order one.

The D-28 CTM made in 2012 is introduced here.
There is no information on the spec sheet about what the motif is, but my first impression is that it has a 70s atmosphere.
The look is quite similar to the old style logo, Grover pegs, and black pickguard used in the 60's.
The Grover torque adjustment screw is a plus instead of a minus, and there is an adjustable rod, but these are all parts that are appreciated (?) when using the instrument, so they were ordered with care. I was very surprised at the sound, but it has an old 70s atmosphere.
I was expecting a sound with a lot of high frequencies like recent Martins when the adjustable rod was adopted, but it has betrayed my expectations in a good way.
I tried to find the secret of this sound, but I could not find it even if I looked at the spec sheet in every corner.
Even in the high position, where the sound tends to be thin, there is a low midrange with a strong presence, giving the illusion that you are playing a real old instrument.

The neck has been reset and refretted after arrival and is in excellent playing condition.
You can enjoy the good old sound for a long time.
