Description

Offered for sale is a relatively unique piece, a 0000-21S built in 2015. This instrument was jointly designed by C.F. Martin IV and George Gruhn to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Gruhn Guitars, one of the largest Martin dealerships in the US.

This 0000-21S is a lovely 12-fret instrument with a 25.4" string scale. As an 0000 (M) sized instrument it has a 20-1/8" body length, a lower bout that is 16" wide and a depth of 4-1/8". The top is made of Adirondack Spruce and is braced with 5/16" scalloped Adirondack Spruce bracing. The back and sides are made of Guatemalan Rosewood with flamed Koa trim and binding. It has a Mahogany neck with what feels to me like a Modified Low Oval neck shape. The fretboard is made of Ebony and it has a 1-13/16" bone nut. The Ebony belly bridge has a drop-in bone saddle with 2-5/16" string spacing. It has a slotted headstock with gold Waverly tuners. It comes with bone bridge and end pins with pearl dots.

Play your first chord on this guitar and you will immediately notice it's sonic punch. This guitar allows you to be heard. It has a clear and powerful voice with both the highs and lows being very well-defined. It is an instrument that is designed to provide the tonal balance and clarity of an OM-sized guitar, with the power of a dreadnought. Check out the brief sound sample below and I believe you will hear what I mean. It plays marvelously too, with 9th fret string heights of 5/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side. The specs call this neck shape "CS Profile #1" but it feel's like Martin's Modified Low Oval to me. The neck feels great; not too big and not too small.

Built in 2015 and carefully played, this beautiful instrument remains in near mint condition. It shows only the lightest of shirt button clearcoat scuffs on the back which are not easily detected except under intense lighting and at the right angles. The frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's original Geib-style Martin case, also in near mint condition.

This guitar sold in 2015 for nearly $6K. Get this near mint example of this relatively rare Martin model for substantially less. A great Martin with great presence! Make this beauty yours today!
