Offered for your consideration is this lovely Martin Custom 00-42 SC John Mayer Signature Edition built in 2016. Namesake instrument or not, John Mayer fan or not, this is one fabulous little Martin acoustic.
The 00-42 Stage Coach is of course an 00 size, 12 fret, short scale guitar. It has a premium Sitka Spruce top and the back, sides and headstock overlay are made from a set of gorgeous and very straight-grained red Cocobolo. The fingerboard and bridge are made of black Ebony. It has been given highly ornate cosmetics, with grained ivoroid binding covering all the edges, fancy multi-color abalone inlays on the body and fretboard and gold engraved side-mounted tuners with ivoroid buttons. It has Martin's Modified V neck shape, the nut width is 1-7/8" and the string spacing at the saddle is 2-5/16". The interior label is signed by John Mayer. The guitar is fully finished in clear gloss and is drop-dead gorgeous!
This guitar is far more than beautiful to behold, however and it plays and sounds as good as it looks. Whether you play with fingers or flat pick, the tone is sumptuous and sweet and the projection amazing for such a small instrument. Listen to the provided sound sample of this very guitar and I think you too will be amazed by the voice of this guitar. It is set up for super easy playability with 12th fret string heights of 5/64" and 4/64" on the low and high E sides, respectively. I typically choose a nut width of 1-3/4" but I found this guitar particularly easy to play and I love the relatively sharp V-shape of the neck. This is one marvelous Martin.
This guitar has seen little play and remains in near mint condition with only the slightest evidence of use. The frets show no observable wear. It is completely original except that the stock Martin plastic bridge and end pins have been upgraded to a nice set of bone pins with Abalone dots. It comes in it's similarly mint Martin Custom case with the embroidered shroud, hang tag, keys and the original bridge and end pins.
This guitar lists for over $10K and regularly sells new for approximately $8.5K. Get this near mint 2016 beauty for a cool $2K less! This is one awesome little Martin. Make it yours!

Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
