Description

What a lovely little Martin we have here! Offered here is this Martin Custom Shop 00-12 fret with 00-42 cosmetics. I'm told his guitar was part of a very short run of just a few guitars which were built produced in 2012.

Martin was kind enough to provide me with the detailed specifications for this lovely guitar and they include: full hide-glue construction; a premium grade Adirondack Spruce top matched up with scalloped 1/4" Adirondack Golden Era bracing; back and sides made from a gorgeous set of tight-grained Cambodian Rosewood which has a lovely amber color; ivoroid body, neck and headstock binding; select Style 45 abalone rosette and purflings; a 12-fret, 25.4" scale neck with a Modified V shape; a Black Ebony fretboard with 16" radius, Style 45 Abalone inlays and a 1.75" bone nut; a slotted headstock with volute, Cambodian Rosewood overlay and brass, side-mounted, Waverly tuners with ivoroid buttons; a Black Ebony belly bridge with 2-1/4" string spacing and a long, drop-in bone saddle. This guitar is decked out!

This guitar's beauty is not just skin deep, however. It plays with superb ease and is setup with 12th fret string heights of 5/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side. As the provided sound sample demonstrates, the tone is rich and woody with lots of note to note clarity and midrange punch. While meant for fingerstyle, you can really dig-in with a flat pick if you like. Either way, the output of this little beauty will amaze you.

This guitar is in excellent plus condition with only the slightest evidence of play and handling. A few shirt button scratches on the back are about it and you will really need to look for them. The frets show no observable wear. It comes with it's similarly clean Martin Custom Shop case with the protective shroud and the detailed build specifications provided by Martin.

Commissioning a guitar with these specs would cost well over $7K today. Get this lovely 2012 example for thousands less. Make this little beauty yours!
