This is a custom shop model based on the D-21 made only in 2011 in which all parts were weighed and only the lightest were used, resulting is the responsiveness of the vintage Martins of the 1930s and 40s. The woods are top grade as well: Madagascar rosewood and Adirondack spruce, with the fingerboard and bridge also of Madagascar. The T-bar was selected because it weighed less than a 2-way adjustable rod, and the cedar neck weighs less than mahogany. Spanish cedar used for the neck is the same wood Martin was putting on necks in the 1800s. To further reduce weight, each neck was carved by hand into a sleek, ultra-low profile. Other features are flamed Hawaiian koa binding, both the bridge plate and the tone bars are tucked under the X-brace to promote direct vibration transference from the plate to the X-brace and to the entire top. This is one of a very small number of Martin models that have the rear-shifted bracing used at Martin from 1939 to 1944, which has the X-brace farther from the sound hole than the modern position, the top has been sanded to pre-war thickness and the entire construction uses hot hide glue.
Our "Cash price" policy: unfortunately, the credit card companies support "swiped" charges in which the card is physically run through the card reader. Phone-in charges are charged at a much higher rate (to the seller) which can take quite a big chunk out of a high-dollar sale. Thus, for those call-in sales, let's discuss the issue at the time; hopefully, we can figure some way to deal with it.
