Collectors of fine Martin guitars or players looking for the ulitmate in all Mahogany instruments should give this instrument careful consideration. Offered is this luscious Martin Signature Edition 000-42Q2GN which was built in 2003 to honor musician Graham Nash. This near mint example is number 134 of the 147 of these magnificent instruments that were built.

This is a short scale, 000-sized, 14 fret instrument. The top, back and sides are all made of fabulous quilted Mahogany. The top is braced with scalloped 5/16" Sitka x-bracing. It is decorated with a Style 45 Abalone rosette, herringbone purfling, tortoise and black/white binding, Style 42 snowflake Abalone fretboard inlays and unique Graham Nash inlays in the headstock and fretboard. It has an Ebony fretboard and belly bridge. It has a compensated bone saddle with 2-5/16" string spacing and a 1-11/16" bone nut. It has a Mahogany neck with a Low Profile neck shape. The tuners are gold open backs with butterbean knobs.

The tone of this magnificent instrument is warm, clear and balanced with lots of sustain and overtones. It is quite responsive and is very easy to play with it's sleek neck shape and relatively narrow nut width. It is setup with light gauge phosphor bronze strings and 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side. Please check out the brief sound sample provided. The voice of this instrument belies it's all Mahogany construction.

This one owner guitar was purchased at Elderly Instruments in 2003. Despite being 15 years old, this guitar remains in near mint condition with little to no evidence of play or wear. The frets show no observable evidence of wear. It comes in it's original Geib style case, also in superb condition, along with the original paperwork.
