Description

Here we have a true diamond in the rough. It’s a 1931 0-17 parlor with glorious tone and sensitivity. It’s all mahogany of course and that lends warmth and sweetness to the tone, but we have to say that this is one of the best sounding mahogany Martins we’ve had in the shop.

Very comfortable Vee neck with some wear but no bumps or divots. Frets have wear but have lots of life left in them.

Playability is fine in the lower positions but gets a bit high as you move up the fingerboard. There’s some room in the saddle for adjustment but this guitar would benefit from a neck reset if you want it to play its best.

There are some long side cracks which have been stablilized but not fully repaired. The bridge is starting to lift and will need attention at some point. As you can see from the pictures, the guitar has its share of dings, scratches, and finish blemishes but the overall effect is that of a well-worn but attractively aged vintage guitar.

For someone willing to invest some TLC, this guitar will reward them for decades to come. Call us for more details if you have questions about what needs doing. Priced commensurate with condition.
