Jim Marshall started a revolution with the JTM 45. He was smart to base the circuit design on the venerable tweed Bassman-it is widely considered the pinnacle of tube amps for guitar. But it's not a tweed Bassman. The British components give it a distinctive sound that few can replicate. It's not as gritty and nasty as the later JMP 50-it's more "musical" at lower volumes and only roars when cranked. This is the PA version which is nearly identical to the lead version (no bright cap). Same inputs as the lead version (not like the later JMP PA's). Condition is excellent. There are few changed caps but no mods. Original transformers. Cabinet is in excellent condition as well as are the plexi and rear panels. I believe the logo is a repro although it looks correct and fits properly. It sounds incredible. I play it through a 2 x 12" cabinet loaded with vintage Greenbacks and it sounds wonderful. Through a half stack or a full stack, it will sound even better. Vintage amps have jumped up in value recently and I believe 60's Marshalls are still a great investment.
