Description

Offered here is something truly special, a pre-lawsuit era Lentz T built by Scott Sr. back in 2003. We sold this guitar about five years ago and I was thrilled when we were able to get it back recently from one of our best customers. Guitars like this Lentz don't come around too often!

This classic Tele-style instrument has an Ash body finished in Vintage White nitro. It is thought to be a one-piece body, but nobody seems to recall for sure. The guitar has a total weight of 7.2 pounds. It has a very C-like soft V Maple neck with depth dimensions of .92" at the first fret and 1.01" at the twelfth fret. The fretboard is old growth Brazilian Rosewood with a 9.5" radius, clay position markers, a 1.625" bone nut and 6105 fret wire. The pickups are Lentz standard wind single coils with high quality cloth wiring and a modern control setup. The string saddles have been upgraded, but the original saddles are included in the case.

Playing this magnificent Tele is as close to playing the real thing as any guitar made, except that the build quality and playability are far better than any vintage Fender Telecaster out there and you get the great Lentz neck profile. The tone is pure Tele twang without being piercing and the output of this guitar is faithful to the originals upon which this instrument is based. Please check out my brief sound sample for a taste of it's fine tone.

Despite being 15 years young, this T has been treated with great respect by it's previous owners and it remains in superb condition. There are a few microscopic imperfections here and there and a bit of "nitro shine" (darkening of the finish color) on the parts of the guitar body that frequently come in contact with bare skin while playing, but otherwise this guitar is in fabulous shape. The frets are in great condition as well. It comes in it's original blonde G&G case which is also in excellent condition.

Based on past experience with pre-lawsuit era Lentz guitars like this one, I expect this marvelous Lentz T to sell rather quickly. So if it interests you, act promptly. This is a magnificent Tele style guitar by any standard. Make it yours while you can!
