1978 Prototype Sample by Kasuga Japan in Good Condition. This is a One-of-a-Kind Prototype Sample produced for a well known USA Guitar Accessories Manufacturer in 1978 and made by the Kasuga Factory in Japan. It is actually one of 4 samples made 2 Guitars & 2 Basses. This was intended to be a new guitar line for the American Company that was ultimately decided not to produce. It has been kept in the USA factory and played off and on for the last 46 years until I acquired it from the Company earlier this year. Guitar Features Nine Piece Laminate Neck Thru Body Construction made from Ash, Maple & Walnut. UnBound Rosewood Fingerboard with Dot Inlay, Strat Style Tremolo Bridge with Brass Saddles (not sure if original but period correct) and Brass Nut. There is no Tremolo Bar included. Single 1980's DiMarzio Cream Super Distortion II Humbucker with 3 way Mini Switch that offers Full Humbucking, Coil Tap and Parallel modes. When I received the guitar all the brass and metal hardware was heavily tarnished and screws were rusted. I was able to clean up the Bridge, Saddles, Brass Nut & Tuners. The pickup ring mounting screws as well as the bridge mounting screws, strap buttons and string tree were replaced with new. All the original screws and parts including the black Tremolo Cover Plate are included (see photo). The guitar had no knobs when received so I added 2 Off White Volume and Tone Strat Knobs which match the cream Humbucker and Ring nicely. There is also one small 2nd string tree hole that was put in the wrong place on the headstock. This has been filled and touched up. Guitar is setup with .009 strings for non trem use with comfortable low action. Because of the brass parts and neck thru construction this guitar has Amazing Sustain and Resonance!! As mentioned, the guitar was played for 46 years at the factory by Employees (and possible Celebs visiting the factory) so it does show nicks, dings and some chips mostly on the body and headstock but nothing behind the neck. The original frets that were small to begin with are now pretty low from use (Think LP Fretless Wonder) so if you plan to play it professionally a fret job may be in order. This is a great quality One-Of-A Kind Vintage Japan Made Guitar and a very cool Rare offering from my private collection. If you collect '70's & '80's Japan made guitars you won't find another one of these anywhere. Includes Deluxe Access Stage Hard Shell Case.

I will include a Letter stating a more complete History of this guitar (what U.S. Company it was made for, etc.) to the buyer only.
