1987 Jackson Budweiser Custom Handcrafted! Budweiser Logo, Near Mint, Original Hard, Call For Price!

In the late 1980s, I was approached about redesigning the Budweiser Guitars for Anheuser Busch by the Head of Special Projects - Concert Tours, Car Races, Boat Races, Boxing Matches, Festivals, Tennis Matches, etc.. They had been trying to get premier bands to use the Dean bolt-on neck cheap guitars. No bands were willing to use those! So, the project was turned over to me. Paul Hamer was supposed to make them for us, but after months of delays, Miller Brewing jumped on him about the rumor that they were going to do guitars for their biggest competitor. He chickened out! Next, we tried Tom Holmes, who was hand building guitars for Billy Gibbons, who recommended him. He only got one done for Stephen Stills after about half of a year, one with a Roland Synth unit built into it. That one ended up being the model for the Jackson Models.
I spent 3 1/2 days at Joe Walsh's penthouse in L.A., met up with Stephen's manager, the late Gerry Tolman at Stephen's house, & borrowed his for a couple of days, to take it to the Jackson Factory in San Dimas, Ca. I ordered a total of 10 guitars with various hardware configurations. 2 with an ABR-1 style bridge & stop tailpiece, with 2 humbuckings. Duncans, as I recall. Also 2 with EMG 85 / SA / SA, & 2 each of a variety of hardware with Kahlers or Floyd Roses. There were only 2 of each style made!
There were also a total of 2 basses made, which were placed on the sides on the stage of The Rolling Stones "Steel Wheels Tour," with spotlights on them until the band was about to come on stage. At that point, they were removed & those spotlights were redirected to the band!
To fast forward, Joe Walsh got one, Mick Jagger got one at Churchill Downs at one of the famous horse races in The U.K., Bobby Keys was given one during the day that the 2 "Hail! Hail! Rock 'N Roll" Shows were filmed. One...this one, was given to the General Manager of Riverport Amphitheatre from before it was completed into the Clear Channel era, when Bain Capital bought Clear Channel, & began to make unpleasant changes, which are still problematic for the bands under "Live Nation's" production rules.
Steven left & became General Manager of the Indianapolis area Amphitheatre, & ran that place until he got Cancer, & passed away. His wife ended up with this guitar, & all of the other memorabilia from that era.
I am selling this one of 2 made Jackson neck through body, as I recall, EMG 85 / SA/ SA with tune-o-matic bridge, & stop tailpiece, with the unused warranty card! This guitar is unplayed, as far as we know! Unfortunately, FEDEX whacked the bottom, back corner hard enough to knock some of the lacquer off of that corner. It is in the process of a touch-up job. Because of that, I will give it a 9.95 condition. It still has the original strings on it! The warranty is untouched too.
I have loads of additional pictures of all relevant angles. This is best as a display guitar, although playable. Great neck on it too! Unfortunately, whoever started building it, used maple instead of mahogany, as written on the spec sheet! I have weighed this one, & it is exactly 9.60 lbs., around the same as the 1980s Les Pauls.
I sent pictures to Grover Jackson & Bruce Kulick, & neither one could guess what it should sell for since it was one of two, of a total of 10 Jackson Budweiser Guitars.
I am personally recovering from heart failure, & literally, overnight partial blindness in mid-May, so I am, to say the least, doing what I can to help Tracy out! Killer guitar for a Jackson Guitar collector & Bud drinker!
I am going to take offers for a few weeks or so, & see what we can do for her!
