Description

Yes! These old 50s archtops are lovely guitars but often have playability and cosmetic issues. Not this one.

Thanks to a neck reset, the guitar plays very well and rings clearly up and down the finger board. The neck has a large but comfortable profile with original frets in very good condition.

Guitar is in overall good to very good vintage condition with a modest amount of play wear and various superficial scratches and cracking, plus the normal little nicks and dings one would expect in a guitar of this age (see pictures).

Neck and body are double bound and the original binding is holding up really well with no missing patches or separation. The pearloid inlays are in good condition except for the 15th fret inlay which has sanding marks that have dulled the finish. The pickguard, which we believe to be original, is in excellent shape. We believe the tailpiece has been replaced as it lacks the Gretsch logo. Original tuners with original black buttons.

So there you have it. A really fine looking, good playing 50s archtop from the iconic Gretsch guitar company that reminds us why we love these old archtops.
