Description

Offered here is one of the last LP replicas built by Gil Yaron, a lightly played, pre-loved Yaron '59 LP Replica which was delivered to the original owner in 2012. If you are seriously considering this instrument, then surely you know that Gil Yaron is highly regarded for building some of the most incredibly accurate replicas of classic Fender and Gibson designs, including some of the most coveted 50's era Les Paul copies available. Legal issues forced the discontinuation of these highly sought-after replica builds. We had a similar Yaron for sale just a few weeks ago and it sold almost immediately.

This instrument offers most every option that Gil Yaron made available on his LP Replicas while he was still building them, including, but not limited to: old-growth Mahogany for the body and neck; reclaimed flamed Maple for the top; pre-CITES era Brazilian Rosewood for the fingerboard with Celluloid Nitrate inlays; Gil's own PAF-perfect humbucking pickups with NOS 50's wiring harness and paper-in-oil caps; nylon nut; period-correct hardware and plastics, etc. The flame Maple top is the finest Gil offers, a $1,500 upgrade and among the best I have ever seen.

I've sold several of these over the years and this guitar has been given relatively light aging by Gil's standards. The aging is about what you would find on a Gibson VOS model, aged and tarnished hardware and a light patina on the wood surfaces, but no significant dings, dents or checking. This guitar looks and feels very much like a lightly played vintage Les Paul that was put away for half a century or so and was only recently re-discovered. It is finished in a gorgeous lemon burst nitrocellulose finish. It has a an incredibly light weight of just 8.0 pounds and is nicely balanced. The neck depth measures .90" at the first fret, increasing to 1.00" at the twelfth fret with very little shoulder as you would find on a real vintage '59 LP.

It took Gil years to accumulate the knowledge, skills and the vintage tools necessary to replicate a 59 LP to such exacting detail. This guitar looks, feels, plays and sounds like the real deal. Please check out the brief sound sample provided. My sample certainly doesn't do this guitar justice, but this thing sounds magnificent to my old ears. The playability is superb too. They don't get any more beautiful, more resonant or much lighter in weight than this exquisite example.

The light aging aside, this guitar is also in magnificent condition with virtually nothing in the way of flaws and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's original Gator TSA LP case which Gil prefers for their light shipping weight and superb protection.

A Yaron LP replica is a guitar for the player who lusts for a real vintage Les Paul but lacks the $.3 million or more for a real 50's era example. I've had a few of these amazing guitars and this particular Yaron may be the best of the bunch. It is certainly the most beautiful. Make this incredible Yaron yours while it is available. They simply don't get any better than this....
