1939 Gibson Super 400 Natural, Very Good, Original Hard, $29,500.00

Currently for sale is an Extraordinarily RARE 1939 Gibson Super 400 Natural, that is according to Tom Van Hoose, who wrote the Super 400 Book, one of the first jumbo body natural finish Super 400s EVER made! It is also on the cover of Johnny Winter's "Hey, Where's Your Brother?" album cover, tour posters, mentioned in Johnny's biographical book, "Raisin' Cain" on page 283, in the guitar magazine ads for the albums, in the 1995 Gibson Custom Shop Catalog, & was used to record the song, "Blues This Bad." "Hey, Where's your Brother?" was nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album for 1993.
Johnny signed off on the use of the guitar on an 8" x 10" color photo. He also signed a tour poster, "Thanks for the Super 400." Johnny Winter. The purchase of this guitar will include a copy of his book, the signed picture, & the signed Tour Poster!
This incredible sounding & playing early '39 Super 400 natural was also loaned to Derek Trucks from mid Sep. of 2008 until it was shipped back on August 14, 2017. Derek used it for songwriting & recording, especially in recent years with The Tedeschi Trucks Band. I was told by Derek's guitar tech, Bobby Tis, who is also the Tedeschi Trucks Band's stage monitor tech, & co-producer, that Derek used it to co-write & record both verisions of "Hear Me," from their last studio album, "Let Me Get By." The Deluxe box set has a version of the song on each disc. The bonus second disc starts with an acoustic version, with strings, of "Hear Me." Multiple pictures of Derek Trucks playing the Super 400 N. in their studio are included, in addition to a letter from Derek Trucks & Bobby Tis, verifying that the guitar was used for songwriting & recording for the years mentioned. Derek Trucks also toured with Eric Clapton on the 2006 - 2007 tours, & played on several albums, videos, & several special shows with Eric Clapton. He was also co-lead guitarist with The Allman Brothers Band from spring of 1999, until the Allman Brothers Band disbanded in fall of 2014. I am hoping to receive a letter specifying which songs were recorded with the guitar, but only have the general use letter at this point.
