1998 Gibson Les Paul 1958 R8 '58 Reissue Cherry Sunburst - Flame Top, Lightweight, Killer Tone

For sale is an absolute gem of a guitar. It is a 1998 Gibson R8 '58 Les Paul Reissue in Cherry Sunburst. This guitar sounds, looks and plays fantastic. It is light weight 8 lbs., 11.3 oz. The guitar was from the “good wood” era. Some of the best wood Gibson used for these guitars was in 1998. The guitar reflects it too. It is very resonant and it sustains for days. There are several resonant points that you can feel the notes ring through out the whole guitar.
The pickups, capacitors, nut and strap buttons have been replaced. It has Seymour Duncan custom shop "A" humbucker set wound by MJ (7.7k neck 8.3k bridge), 715p 600v 0.022uf orange drop caps,
The guitar does not come with a COA, in 1998 Gibson didn't issue them.
It comes with a non original black Gibson USA case with white lining. The compartment lid is no longer attached, but stays in place.
The guitar has minimal checking and a few tiny marks, dents, the guitar was played and is over 20 years old. The frets have wear but there is still lots of life in them, 70% or so.
Included with guitar is a pair of new nickel pickup covers, just in case you like that look better.
This guitar has it all, tone, low action, gorgeous flame top and it is light weight.
