The "Standard-80" model of the Heritage Series, the forerunner of the current Historic Series reissue, is the origin of the Historic Series.
This model is a reissue of a 1957 gold top Les Paul that was produced in relatively small numbers in the later years of the Heritage Series.
It has a 1-piece mahogany back and 3-piece mahogany neck with a 60-style slim shape neck.
The pickups are '82 Tim Shaw PAF (NEW PAF) and the pots are CTS '81.
There are two linear dents repaired on the body side (body dent fill/over lacquer), and the shape of the body side and edge is slightly different.
The capacitor has been replaced with a Sprague Black Beauty, the tuners have been replaced with new Grovers, and the strap pins have been replaced. (All without original parts).
The pickguard has been replaced and there are additional screw hole marks on the top side.
Additional screw holes have been drilled in the endpin area and there are traces of endpin screw holes that have been filled in.
The entire back of the neck has been over-lacquered.
There are several dents/scratches/scuffs throughout the body, showing signs of age.
It has been re-fretted and re-nutted, with very little fret wear, and the neck and truss rod are in good condition.
The hard case handle has been replaced.
