Description

This has to be one of my favorite models Gibson offered in the 70s! Up for sale is a 1972 Gibson Limited Edition ’54 Reissue Les Paul Custom in a beautiful Ebony finish. What makes this model special is the one piece mahogany body, one piece neck with a chunky rounded 50s profile, and the P90 / staple pickup combination. This guitar has kind of been through the wringer, but all the mods have been reversed and it’s such a killer guitar! It was routed for humbuckers at some point, but was professionally blocked and colormatched. Looks like a patch was filled around one of the volume controls and also colormatched. There are a couple dowel marks on the back of the body likely going up into the tenon. All pots and caps are replacements, the neck pickup is a Seymour-Duncan Custom Shop Staple P-90 and the bridge pickup is original. Tuners swapped with drop-in replacements, originals included. Bridge and stop tail are Faber drop in replacements but the originals included. Professionally refretted, and the entire guitar was oversprayed as all of it glows evenly under the blacklight. Seriously amazing guitar for a lot less than an unmodified one!
