This is a brand new Gibson Historic 1959/R9 with a Brazilian Fingerboard, Lemon Burst, VOS finish, Nickel Hardware. This is from the new limited run of Brazilian R9s – and the lefties are even more rare, with only a handful made. The Brazilian R9 Les Pauls have been among the most collectable of modern-era guitars.
This one has a great weight at only 8.32 lbs (8 lbs, 5.1 oz as measured on a commercial Mettler scale), 3D top with the flame changing composition at different angles, and a very comfortable neck depth with .89/1st fret and 1.03/12th fret. This is similar to the classic mid-1959 Gibson necks – most modern R9s are larger with .90+ at the 1st fret. I’ve sold dozens of modern R9s and the complaint was always the neck is a little too big. Looks like Gibson finally got the neck profile right!
Pickup resistance is 7.91K/Neck PUP and 7.94K/Bridge PUP. The bridge PUP in particular is not as shrill or strident as on most R9s from the past, which has a nice spank but still very musical and easy on the ears.
Includes all original paperwork, tags, COA, OHSC, and box. The case is also an improvement over previous Lifton-style cases. It is of a heavier construction, with additional foam inserts to protect the headstock.

1. OK, just one more question ( just like Lt. Columbo) does the Brazilian board feel different from a Indian board ? I know I played Brazilian board vintage Fenders in the 90's ,I just can't remember .
It feels good... Again, I don't know if the feel can be attributed to this particular species of rosewood, or simply the overall build quality of the guitar...
