All original and in excellent condition, no cracks or significant wear. This '64 J-50 (#171329) shows a few finish dings on the top, one or two on the sides and hardly a mark on the back or neck. The only mark on the finish of the back is where the former owner lightly scratched his name into the finish as a 15 year old right after acquiring the guitar (see final photo). This is very shallow in the finish, and may be shallow enough to wet sand/buff out, but I've left it as part of the history of the guitar. There's a fantastic story from the former owner as well about when he (a clean cut kid) went into what was likely a drug house to buy the guitar at 15, but I digress. The only repair on the guitar is a plugged jack hole in the lower bout of the treble side (well done, touched up with color and finish) from a previously installed and now removed pickup jack. The frets show only minor wear in the first position, the fret board is in excellent condition. The nut width is 1 11/16". The neck is straight under tension and the truss rod functions properly. The bridge and ceramic saddle are original. The bridge is not pulling or distorting at all. The guitar plays with action set at 7/64" and 6/64" at the Es at 12th fret with room to lower the saddle if desired. The intonation is good and the guitar plays cleanly all over the neck. Sounds great...strong all across its tonal range. New hard shell case accompanies the guitar. $4400

Items are sold with a 48 hour approval period unless clearly marked "AS IS" in the listing. AS IS items are not returnable. If an item is going to be returned it is at the buyer's expense and the item must be shipped within 24 hours of the buyer notifying Kovacik Guitars of intent to return. Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned. Once an item is returned to Kovacik Guitars and judged to be in the same condition as when originally sold a full refund will be issued.
