Premium custom made at the factory with Super 400 neck and Hakaranda body

Gibson / 1956 J-200 Custom with Super 400 Neck/Brazilian Rosewood Body

This is a very rare J-200 that was custom made in the 50's. This is a rare example of a J-200 with a Super 400 neck and a Brazilian Rosewood body.

This 1956 J-200 was made with Gibson's top-of-the-line archtop Super 400 neck specs.
In addition, Brazilian rosewood was used for the body for prewar specifications.
It is a premium piece that can rarely be seen.

The orange label used since 1955 is marked "Custom,
The orange label, used since 1955, is marked "Custom," indicating that it has been specially customized at the Kalamazoo Factory.

This kind of customization is sometimes seen on the higher end models of the 60's, such as Hummingbird and Dove, and is a very rare and exciting item for vintage collectors.

The flagship model of Gibson's archtop guitars, the "Super 400," also known as the "King of Jazz Guitars.

The "King of the Flat Tops," the J-200, still reigns as the king of acoustic guitars.

The matching of king and king is fascinating to see.
We are very honored to be able to find such a legendary piece in this day and age.

The finish on the body top has a very beautiful look with a solid contrast of black and red.
The spruce grain glimpsed over the black finish is also very nice.

The body back is made of quarter-sawn Hakaranda. The body sides are also very cool with Hakaranda-like lines.
The current Gibson Montana factory does not handle Brazilian rosewood, so you can only experience the vintage specs.

The pickguard is a thicker type with a flower pattern from the late 50s. The Hakaranda bridge has a great line. Bridge pins have been replaced with wood type with pearl embedded.

The neck set on this body brings out the full splendor of the instrument.
The large head with split diamond inlay is equipped with Cruson seal fast tuners, and the fingerboard cell is 7 ply.
The neck flame is also clearly shaded for beauty and power.

This is a vintage J-200 with the clarity of the Hakaranda sound, a gem of a guitar.
