1965 Gibson Hummingbird w/original hard case
This one owner Gibson Hummingbird is in excellent, all-original condition including the original hard case. The guitar shows little wear and was well cared for over the last six decades. The original finish shows a small area of belt buckle rash with one spot in that area that is through to the wood but otherwise the finish wear is minimal. The lacquer has fine crazing throughout. The center seam of the top has been reglued, having come loose due to dryness, the repair is flat and tight, professionally done. There is also a repaired crack along the edge of the treble side of the fret board, quite common on Gibsons of this era, this repair is also flat, tight and stable (this can be seen in the 2nd-to-last pic). The back and sides are crack free. The neck, fret board and frets are virtually free of any kind of wear, very clean. All interior bracing is secure and original. The neck is straight under tension and the truss rod functions properly. The guitar is set up with light gauge strings and the action is set at 6/64" and 5/64", low and comfortable. The 1 11/16" nut width combined with a relatively low profile "C" shaped neck give the neck a fast and easy feel. Sounds like a mid-60s Gibson dread...but one of the good ones. Sounds like a mid-60s honky-tonk record with deep bass and that thumpy Gibson thing. Nice. Comes with the original hard case which is in excellent condition, the interior is intact and free from funky or musty odor, and has the original owner's name ("Barb") painted on the lid. $4950

Items are sold with a 48 hour approval period unless clearly marked "AS IS" in the listing. AS IS items are not returnable. If an item is going to be returned it is at the buyer's expense and the item must be shipped within 24 hours of the buyer notifying Kovacik Guitars of intent to return. Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned. Once an item is returned to Kovacik Guitars and judged to be in the same condition as when originally sold a full refund will be issued.
