Description

Early 60s Hummingbirds normally command higher prices than this, but because there have been a few modifications from original, you can save some bucks and still have a great Gibson guitar. The guitar was re-topped by the Gibson factory, probably in the 70s, and was also given a new bridge and fingerboard.

We don’t have the paper documentation, but the work is clearly Gibson factory work and the style of rosette and the block fingerboard inlays (original specs would have called for parallelograms) suggest strongly that it was done in the 70s.

Bound fingerboard with side dots and pearloid block inlays. Traditional Hummingbird pickguard is vivid and unworn. Beautiful five-ply top binding and three-ply back binding set off the vibrant cherryburst top and rich mahogany back and sides.

Only a few minor dings and nearly invisible playwear keep this guitar from being called mint. It looks absolutely stunning and to say that it plays and sounds awesome is not an overstatement. One of the current shop favorites for sure. It comes with its original hardshell case, too! Grab this sweetheart and make it yours!
