1969 Gibson Heritage Natural

Natural, fresh out of our shop and sounding great. Natural, laminated Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. It even has the original hang tags. This came to us from the original owner who requested that we do a neck reset and reglued the bridge. We did the work and then ever so kindly, he let it go. Has no Made in USA stamp and no volute. Has a three-piece laminated neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge with adjustable saddle. These were right in the middle of Gibson’s acoustic range, more than the J-50 but less than the Dove. With Square shoulders so it’s longer scale at 25.5”, (the better to hear you with my dear).

The Brazilian is beautiful. Norlin, who owned Gibson at the time was based in South America where Dalbergia Nigra (Brazilian Rosewood) comes from. Yet there was an embargo on exporting it. Has seven layers of body binding like the Dove and five layers on the back with a zag back stripe. Nice heel cap and original nickel Grover Pat. Pending tuners. The condition is good with no cracks and only light finish checking. The back of the neck has nice even wear and the back of the headstock has the previous owner's Operation I.D. number etched in to prevent theft (musta worked). The frets are in good shape and there is no strap button in the heel. The action is great. While many of these from the later 70’s are just average, this sounds great and is a real pleasure to play. Comes with the original hard case and two hang tags.
