Description

If you buy a 1960 335 with your eyes closed and then you open them, you might not get what you expected. Some have a late 59 transitional neck and some have a flat "blade" neck. Some have bonnet knobs, some have reflectors. Some are long guard, some are short. Amber switch tip or white switch tip. So, buying a 60 requires paying attention to what you want and what you're getting. This is a mid year that has some important 59 features (the ones you really want). The neck is the main event. It is the same as a late 59 and measures just under .84" at the first fret (the later ones can be as thin as .78") and .90" at the 12th. Call it medium. The pots are dated 47th week of 1959 and the caps are bumblebees (unusual for a mid 60). PAFs are sealed but the neck pickup lead has been extended. Tuners have been changed to Grovers. I can change them back to Klusons if you want ($600 for a set of real 60)-no charge for repro. No wire ABR-1, lightweight stop tail. Good pro re-fret. This guitar is rather above player grade but not collector grade either due to the Grovers. This guitar has a good repro guard and there is an extra screw hole under it.
