1958 Gibson ES-335 Sunburst, Very Good, Original Hard

LOWER PRICE. Early unbound 58 ES-335 in very good plus condition. There is moderate checking but very little wear anywhere on the guitar. There is some very typical cracking around the jack. 58's do this and its usually just the top ply of the top. A great player and a tone monster. 58's are different than any other year. The top is thinner, the neck angle is shallower, the heel construction is different, the bridge is different even the tuner tips are a different plastic (that doesn't turn to dust). Nobody knows exactly how many of the 267 58 sunburst 335's are unbound but I'd guess that here are less than 150 of them. I sold this guitar a few years ago and I've just taken it back in trade for a blonde 59. On the vast majority of 58's, the shallow profile ABR-1 collapsed or broke. They were replaced with full height ABR-1's that were shaved at the ends. This one has a shaved mid 60's ABR-1. The broken original low profile ABR-1 is in the case which is a brown Gibson badged.
