Description

Offered here is a very special instrument, a '59 ES-335 Reissue VOS with a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. This one-off guitar was built in Gibson's Nashville factory last year for the Chicago Music Exchange. During 2018 (Gibson's year of financial reorganization) a small supply of Brazilian Rosewood was discovered and used to build a small run of Les Pauls (see elsewhere in our inventory), along with a few other very special guitars like this lovely ES. That supply of Brazilian is long gone now, making the guitars from this very limited 2018 run quite desirable.

The specifications for this beauty include: a laminated Maple body with center block; full hide glue construction; an Ebony nitrocellulose lacquer finish; aged nickel hardware; a 24.75" string scale length; a Mahogany neck with a rounded '59 neck shape and depth measurements of .900" at the first fret and 1.00" at the twelfth fret; a figured Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, hand-picked by CME chief Andrew Yonke, with a 12" radius, medium frets and a 1.70" nut; and for electronics, Custom Bucker "S" pickups with Bumble Bee caps and CTS pots.

This guitar has a total weight of 8.5 pounds and it sounds incredible. Check out the provided sound sample. This Gibson cooks! It plays great too and the big neck feels great in your hand. In all respects, this is a particularly special ES-335.

This guitar was completed just over one year ago and has been collector-owned since. It shows little to no evidence of wear beyond the factory VOS aging, which is very light and limited primarily to the aging of the hardware. The frets show zero wear. It comes in its original hardshell case (also in near mint shape) along with the certificate of authenticity and hang tags.

This unique piece originally went for $7,200 but this near mint guitar can be now had for far less. If a very special ES-335 at a great price appeals to you, then make this fabulous piece yours.
