Many moons ago, I was watching Journey play at one of their endless Atlanta shows and happened to be sitting very far stage right, about four or five rows back. Now during this particular period, Neal Schon had a penchant for stacking Hiwatt cabinets and heads all across his side of the stage and I'm guessing that it was for effect, but it looked great to me. Lots and lots of Hiwatts on the right side of the stage.

As I was gawking around and partaking of yet another highly overpriced and very warm beer, I noticed a small, lexan box behind the last stack of Hiwatt cabs. Inside that box was a small combo amp with a microphone pointed at the front and a moving blanket draped over the top. It was my "Aha" moment where I thought that it must be true for Neal to have his killer tone coming out of stacks of Hiwatts heads when it actually looked like he was getting his sound from a tiny, mic'd-up combo amp. Surely that couldn't be, but I could find no other explanation for what I saw and at that moment, I thought I had solved the riddle of the Rock-n-Roll mystery of the ages. I had busted Neal Schon dead cold...

As all that related to this little Super Champ, you could do the same thing Neal was doing and pretty much get the same result. It's as stout as an angry bulldog and just as snarly. The Jensen P10-R (not sure if it's original?) has a tight and aggressive tone, but will still clean up nicely if so desired. Simply put, stash this amp on the side of the stage, slap an SM-57 in front of it and you're off to the races. This ain't the '80s, so your back will thank you when you're packing your car to head home after the gig. Trust me on that one...

This amp is clean and has been checked for proper operation. Now, if you call pissing your neighbors off by playing "Sin City" at volume on a Saturday morning "proper operation," then it passes with flying colors. The package includes the cover and footswitch and all have been cleaned and detailed.

Please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, we thank you for stopping by!
