Description

This is an incredibly rare 'centre volume' amp – written up in Dave Hunter’s Book and in an article as 'the amp that doesn’t exist'. It is a very very early brown face fender, thought to be a prototype sent out to promote the transition between tweed amps and brownface amps. They were not officially released until 1960 and the very early ones like this didn’t even have a tube chart. The neat thing is that it combines characteristics of both the highly sought-after tweed super with the higher power of the brownface super. ‘

This particular amp No. 0004 is in fine shape, serviced and sounding great. The usual cap job but original 1958 transformers and original but re-coned Jensen P10Q’s. It completely original (with original footswitch) except for the upper back panel which comes from another Fender Super.

A fantastic opportunity for collectors to own a game changing amp.
