1951 Fender Nocaster – Blond
Check out this fully original, well-loved 1951 Fender Nocaster in its original Blond finish! In the Fall of 1950, Fender received a strongly worded telegram from Gretsch demanding they drop the name “Broadcaster” from their new solid-bodied guitar model since Gretsch was already using the “Broadkaster” name. To avoid wasting the decals already produced for the model, Fender simply snipped off the “Broadcaster” name, using just the Fender logo on these headstocks. These models are known as the “Nocasters”. This particular example is an exceptional piece from that highly desirable era, with an incredibly full and comfortable neck. The nut has been changed to a newer bone nut, though these original frets have held up well and will be playable for many years to come. These pickups are strong and full-bodied, and the bridge pickup really sings with some volume and just a slight overdrive. Although the tuners have a mix of “Deluxe” and “No Line” styles, they are all sealed tuner posts leading us to believe these are all original to the guitar.
