Description

This guitar has really been through the ringer! 1968/1969 Fender Competition Mustang! The body looks to have started its life as a Competition Red with a little paint left in the neck pocket. Both the body and the headstock have been refinished in our favorite “Competition Orange” and even has the correct replacement decal! At one point someone converted this into a string-through body, but the holes were plugged prior to the refin. The pickups are original gray bottom pickups from 1966. The bridge, tailpiece, control plate, pickguard and knobs are original. The pots, switches, strap-buttons, trem-arm, tuners and neck plate are replacements. Neck date is stamped “16NOV68B.” All in all, a super cool vintage player Mustang in a color you almost never see.
