Description

Summary: The Fender Jazzmaster was introduced in the late 1950’s at the NAMM show & was originally designed to be an upgrade to the legendary Stratocaster. The Jazzmaster has remained relevant with the modern player & continues to be one of Fender’s most desired instruments. This particular Fender is from 1965 – this guitar is in great shape & it ships in the original hardshell case with original bar and bridge cover.

Body: The offset alder body has the original 3 tone sunburst.

Neck: The neck is solid maple with a bound rosewood veneer fretboard, pearl dots, 25 ½” scale length and 1 11/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Two original Jazzmaster single-coil pickups in white plastic covers, three-ply tortoiseshell plastic pickguard, original Jazzmaster bridge and vibrato assembly with arm, selector switch for rhythm or lead tone circuit, three position pickup selector for lead circuit, volume and tone roller controls for rhythm circuit, chromed hardware and six in a line Kluson Deluxe tuners.

Cosmetics: There are numerous dings & scratches on the body- all wear is consistent with a well-loved but played vintage Fender guitar. The back has some buckle rash & lots of wear that newer companies are trying to replicate. The back of the neck also has a generous amount of wear and it feels worn-in & comfortable. Some of the finish checking throughout the guitar is wonderful. The nut also has a chip by the low E string slot but the string stays in place just fine. The frets have a bit of wear to them but they don’t impede playability.

Playability: This vintage Jazzmaster is a dream to play – the action is low, the truss rod is fully adjustable, the vibrato unit is very versatile and stays in tune. We put a new set of 10’s on this Fender & it is ready to be played and loved for years to come.

Modifications: The nut has been replaced with a new bone nut and it has been refretted with larger frets.

Weight: 7 lbs, 14 oz.

Case: This vintage Fender Jazzmaster ships with the original hard-shell case with whammy bar and bridge cover. We will package this guitar well & ship it fully insured.
