I like Telecasters but I simply never use the neck pickup (which is generally pretty awful on the early ones) But an Esquire is more than just a one pickup Tele. Without the second pickup pulling on the strings, the guitar sustains better and with the "straight out" position that bypasses the tone knob, you get the true raw power of a flat pole Tele bridge pickup. You can't do that on a Tele unless you re-wire it. This 55 has the original finish and all original electronics. Original tuners, knobs, guard, neck, neck plate, bridge plate-everything except the saddles which are vintage but later. The frets are not original. The ashtray is missing. I will include a repro. Condition is probably 7.5/10. The tweed case is fair to poor. The latches all work but one of the hinges is pulling away from the wood and it's pretty beat up. It will protect the guitar but I wouldn't take it out on a gig.
