2015 Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Journeyman Relic Stratocaster Olympic White
Offered here is a Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Journeyman Relc Stratocaster built in 2015. This model represents Fender's attempt to build a Custom Shop Stratocaster that incorporates all the best features of their vintage models combined with some modern improvements which are intended to result in an overall better instrument.
Fender has given the Postmodern model an Ash body, ostensibly for light weight and improved tone. This example has a particularly dense Ash body giving it superb tone and a total weight of 7.9 pounds. This one has an Olympic White Nitrocellulose Laquer finish with Journeyman-level factory aging. Fender has modified the body contours slightly on this model to better fit the player's body. The neck feels very similar to a '60 Stratocaster with it's oval C shape and depth measurements of .83" at the 1st and .93" at the 12th. This guitar has been given a round laminated Rosewood fretboard with a 9.5"-12" compound radius and a contoured neck heel, changes which are designed to improve it's playability and upper fret access. The Postmodern Strat is factory-equipped with strap lock hardware and has been given an updated set of vintage style tuners which are staggered, thereby allowing for the elimination of the headstock string tree. Finally, Fender has given the Postmodern updated electronics, including custom wound Anch Poblano single coils along with a unique tone circuit which maintains the guitar's tone (without artificial enhancements), regardless of changes in your volume.
This guitar is extremely resonant and plays great. As part of the factory aging process, much of the finish on the back of the neck has been removed for a smooth, dry, non-tacky feel. The modifications made to this guitar are subtle and do nothing to harm a recipe that musicians have loved for decades. This Strat feels quite familiar, but is a bit more comfortable to play than your typical Custom Shop Reissue. The pickup and wiring mods give this guitar a voice which is classic Strat, but with modern edge. Please check out the brief sound sample provided for a taste of the tone of this fine Strat.
This guitar is in near mint condition with little to nothing to differentiate it from a new instrument. The frets are flawless and it comes with everything that came with it new, including the OHSC, the certificate of authenticity, spec sheet and all the accessories, including the Cruz Tools.
If you think of this guitar as a Custom Shop '60 Stratocaster Relic, but with a few modern updates, you won't be disappointed and will likely love this fabulous.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. A phone number at the shipping destination is required. Other shipping services, including express services and international shipping are available at our discretion, just contact us for a quote.
Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
