Offered for your consideration is this killer Fender American Vintage Reissue '62 Tele Custom built in 2008. Fender stopped making this model back in 2012 as the cost of production became prohibitive relative to their Custom Shop versions of this same guitar. These AVRI models were known to be fabulous guitars and you don't see many clean examples like this beauty as folks tend to hold onto them.
This marvelous Tele has specs which are true to the original upon which it is based. It has an Alder body with binding on both sides and a 3 tone sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish. This one has a lightly flamed Maple neck with an oval C-shape and depth measurements of .84" at the 1st fret and .93" at the 12th. It has a lovely dark slab Rosewood fretboard with a 7.25" radius, vintage frets and a 1.650 Tusq nut. It comes with a vintage style Tele bridge with steel saddles and Gotoh tuners. The pickguard on this beauty has been switched out to a parchment shade which matches the guitar's binding perfectly, but the original mint green guard is included should you choose to switch it back. The electronics include two '62 Tele Custom single coils with volume, tone, an upgraded 4-way switch and modern wiring. This Tele weighs just 7.4 pounds.
Pick up this guitar and you would think it was a much more expensive Custom Shop model. It looks, feels, plays and sounds like a guitar costing far more, which is likely one of the reasons Fender discontinued this model. It plays like butter and the tone is just what you want in a Tele, twang without being piercing and the first position on the four-way switch gives you an extra and very fat tone that is just icing on the cake. Despite being a decade old, this guitar is in excellent condition and could pass for a much newer instrument. It shows only very light play and handling wear in the nitro and on the pickguard and one tiny ding in the binding just above the neck plate (see photo). Otherwise this guitar is in great shape and the frets show little wear. It comes in a mint brown G&G case along with a good portion of the original accessories. Only the bridge cover and the original hang tag appear to be missing.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
