The Browne Amplification - Gritador Overdrive is a mid's forward overdrive, and so much more. Tube screamer look and sound, the vocal-like mid's cut through the mix to make any guitar and amp sounds great while retaining some upper harmonic compression that is really pleasing and natural. We won't beat around the bush on this because we both know what classic circuit inspired this pedal. From Stevie Ray Vaughn to John Mayer, this Tube Screamer has been part of more recordings than any other overdrive pedal. This version, however, is the version that our resident genius in chief has tweaked to perfection. He dialed in the midrange to be more nuanced. You still get that classic midrange bump but without some of the inherent nasaliness that can sometimes plague this circuit. He altered the clipping to be slightly less symmetrical. He also tweaked the low end to give it more fullness while still maintaining a tight and punchy low end.
Why Gritador? Because it means “screamer” in Portuguese. This is Dave's favorite version of his favorite overdrive. Just plug it in and let go. I promise you - this thing SCREAMS.
The dimensions of the Gritador are 4.8” x 2.64” x 1.6” (2.25” with knobs) and is powered by a 9V power supply with draw of 20mA. It has soft switching with an adjustable startup state and a beautiful glossy Bullfrog Belly Green, keeping the Gritador in the militaristic aesthetic oved by fans of Browne Amplification.

We do our best to offer competition shipping rates on non-Free-Shipping gear. Orders placed Monday through Friday after 2pm Central will not ship until the following business day. All our gear comes with a 7-day evaluation period. An extra 24 hours is added on for acoustic instruments during the winter season, to allow the contents to reach room temperature before you open the box. If you are not completely satisfied with the instrument, just return it via your preferred common carrier. Also, we do not send out instruments for evaluation without payment in full. *All B-Stock sale items are in working condition, and are sold as is. All B-Stock sales are final. To return an item please give us a call, or email to receive a return authorization. We ask that you very carefully pack the gear up in its original carton, with all the accessories and paper work included, and ship it back to us via a common carrier (not Uncle Al's Pony Express) to us. Please insure it for the full retail amount. If the item is damaged while in transit, we'll notify you and ask that you file a claim with your preferred shipper. Once the item arrives back to us and we unpack it, we will issue a full credit for the item, less the shipping charges. (A return voids any free shipping offers and the customer is liable for shipping charges both ways.) If the item is not in its original condition, or is returned after the normal evaluation period has expired without prior arrangement with us, re-stocking fees and other charges may apply.
